Małgorzata Alina Wiese
was born on the 13th of June
in 1963 in Wagrowiec in
Poland. In
the city Bydgoszcz she went to the
highschool of fine art. From 1985
until 1990
she studied at the Academy of fine arts in Poznañ.
During these years her main course was lithography. In 1990
she passed her exams in front of professor L.
Mianowski. In Poland she had several exhibitions of her work and she illustrated two children's books. In the early 90s she moved to Holland and exposed her work in ’s Hertogenboch and Amsterdam. In 1994 she married and became mother of two children. Because of this situation she was unable to paint al lot, so she accepted the requests to illustrate two cooking and lifestyle books. In the same period she was a teacher in painting for several welfare organizations in the region. Early 2003 she restarted her career as a painter and her work was exhibited in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Groningen, Haarlem, Velsen, Santpoort, Heemstede, Scheemda, Bloemendaal, Utrecht, and Poznan, Warsaw and Gdansk (PL) |

The first
time Gosia visited the Netherlands
it seemed to her like entering a fairy-tale world.
Houses were neat, streets nice and clean, no closed curtains and the
environment was either greenish or colorful. Visiting the bulb fields in spring as well as working in her garden makes her happy and full of joy. Many of the flowers on the 60 x 60 cm paintings blossomed in the garden around the house. Watching films about nature and wildlife, especially tropical fish inspired Gosia to learn to swim. Although she did not dive yet, she passionately paints the fish she once hopes to see live. In her paintings she catches the rhythm and dynamics of the subject, but she uses her own shades of colour. Gosia is always searching for unexpected colour combinations that will empower the subject. |
